How to Comb Wet Hair

According to the website Hair Finder, a person's hair is the mOSt fragile when it is wet. Using a hairbrush can pull on the individual hairs, stretch them and even yank some of them out. It is better to use a comb when grooming yourself or your children after a shower. In addition, you need to comb your hair in the right manner to remove any knots that may be in your hair resulting in the least amount of damage as possible.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions

things you'll need:
Spray conditioner/detangler
Wide-toothed comb

1.Choose a wide-toothed comb as fine-toothed combs cause more breakage.

2.Spray the hair with a leave-in conditioner or detangler. This will help the comb glide through the hair rather than pull on it. It will also help dislodge any knots.

3.Take one section of your hair at a time and run the comb down the bottom 1/4 of the hair.

4.Move the comb halfway up the section of hair and work your way back down again.

5.Set your comb 3/4 of the way up the section of hair and work your way back down to the ends of that section of hair.

6.Place your comb up against your scalp and work the comb all the way through the section of hair.

7.Repeat with each section of hair, going slowly through any tangles or knots.

Tips & Warnings
Don't tug on the comb if you come across a knot. Take the comb out of your hair and begin working at the bottom of the knot. Slowly move up as you release the bottom part of the knot until you have completely worked through the knot. Tugging will only rip the knot so that you are left with a clump of hair in your hand.
